Chapter 1 – Conquering Tsunade!

It was a nice sunny day in Konoha. Tsunade was having a particularly fun and interesting day as Hokage. She had summoned Naruto and Sasuke to her office to give them a top-secret assignment.

Naruto:
“Hey Sasuke, what kind of mission do you think Tsunade will give us? Going by her track record, she’s given me a lot of important missions while you were away from Konoha.”

Sasuke:
“If you say so, Usuratonkachi. I have a bad feeling about it… since we were both called.”

Naruto (rambling, not listening):
“There was the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, the Save Gaara Arc… man, there were a lot of retrieval arcs.”

Sasuke:
“Hopefully it’s not about Kaguya or those aliens again.”

They reached Tsunade’s office, both walking side by side, yet not listening to a single word the other said. As usual.

Tsunade:
“Ah, just on time, you two. Good job.”

Naruto:
“Hey, hey, Tsunade no baa-san! What important, exciting mission are you giving me and Sasuke?”

Sasuke:
“…”

Tsunade:
“Your mission is to go to the Land of Earth and meet with the Tsuchikage. She’ll give you the details when you arrive.”

Naruto:
“What?! That’s lame! Didn’t you ask the Tsuchikage what the mission is?”

Sasuke:
“Sounds fishy.”

Tsunade: (irritated)
“You brats—have you forgotten who the Kage is here? I thought you’d both be interested in traveling to the Land of Earth, since neither of you have been there before.”

Naruto:
“That’s not very convincing. I’m not some newbie genin who hasn’t seen the world, you know.”

Sasuke:
“I’ve been to the Land of Earth before. There’s nothing special about it.”

Naruto:
“See—!”

Tsunade:
“You brats! Don’t question me! Just go to Iwagakure, meet Kurotsuchi, and get your mission.”

Naruto: (grumbling)
“Saved the world from destruction and still get bossed around, eh, Sasuke?”

Sasuke:
“Hmph. Let’s go, Naruto.”
