In your mind Name a person who you hold dear. Think of all the emotions, feelings, behaviors, memories and how the person makes you feel, their face, their voice, a specific memory, how your body feels when thinking of them
Now convert this name to a jumbled 16-character name. Store all the things associated with the person’s name into a book. Book is named book 16-character name. Now mediator places this book on a bookshelf. The bookshelf has 100 books that are all copies of the new 16-character name but are empty pages except the original.
Without meditator seeing – the bookshelf books are scrambled. Then the meditator is asked to choose the original book and has one chance at this task. Will the mediator take the risk? Can the mediator be willing to be ready to drop the story associated with the name?
Can you drop the feelings associated with the name? Are all the memories of the past associated with the name?
Can the past memories exist without the name?
Now — without any name, without any character string, without any book — is there something you feel toward this person that exists independent of all of it? Prior to memory, prior to story, prior to the name?
If yes — what is that? Can you stay in that without naming it?
If no — what does that reveal?
